<p>The word ?DevOps? is a combination of two words ?development? and ?operations?. The purpose of this Webinar was to create an awareness among the students about DevOps culture which promotes collaboration between Software Development and Operations Teams to deploy code to produce faster in an automated & repeatable way.</p>
<p>The Department of Information Science and Engineering, MVJCE, Bangalore organized the Webinar on ?DevOps-Fusion of Agile Operations? on 26.9.2020. The webinar was open to UG/PG students, research scholars, faculty members & industry personnel. 172 participants had registered for the webinar. The Resource Person for the webinar was Mr. Dilip Gundala, Senior Solution Manager, Unisys, Bangalore, also an alumnus of MVJCE from 2001 CSE batch.</p>
<p>The webinar was inaugurated by Dr. P Mahabaleswarappa, Principal, MVJCE. During the welcome address, he mentioned that the topic of the Webinar, ?DevOps? is industry relevant & very much required for the students to be aware of and to make them ready for placement.</p>
<p>Followed by the welcome address by Principal, the Resource Person, Mr. Dilip Gundala started his session. During the first one hour, Mr. Dilip Gundala explained the following:</p>

<li>Agile Methodology & its Pitfall</li>
<li>Need for DevOps</li>
<li>DevOps Principles</li>
</ul>

<p>Students were encouraged to ask questions. Many students put forward their queries related to the importance of knowledge on DevOps for placement, various certification courses available on DevOps etc.</p>
<p>After clarifying the students? queries, the session was resumed with following topics:</p>

<p>Towards the end of the session, Mr. Dilip Gundala showed a demo for implementation of DevOps in the organizations.</p>

<p>The Webinar concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Sanchari Saha, Head, Dept of ISE, MVJCE.</p>
<p><strong>Outcome of the Event:</strong> </p>
<p>Participants gained knowledge on DevOps culture which is essential to promote collaboration between Software Development Team and Operations Team. They were also able to see a demo on implementation of DevOps in organizations</p>
